Candlelight

Noooo! Not mine silly!! My cousin Alex got engaged this semester!! I had to hide out in the kitchen for about an hour so that no one would see me and immediately know that Alex was engaged! I took lots of pictures for her, even though she would turn everytime I got where I could see her face! Hahaha! Can't wait to see her march down the aisle on Dec 17, 2011!!

Auburn Football

Of course I have to do a whole post dedicated to Auburn football this year (sorry Bama and UGA fans)! This is the 2nd time in my years of being a student that Auburn has had an perfect season! This past weekend our team pulled out an amazing comeback over Alabama.

I remember at the beginning of the season against Arkansas State thinking "it's going to be a long year..." Boy was I wrong! I've been amazed by this team and couldn't be more proud. I learned quickly worry too much about being down by 14-17 points. However, when we were down 24-0 with -11 yards....I must admit...I had all but thrown in the flag. I just didn't see it happening. But, you can NOT ignore this teams passion and determination. It can't be matched.

Anyway, here are some pictures of me with some pretty awesome family and friends from this perfect season! :) War Eagle!!!

It's been a while....

Well, I've been a big slacker when it comes to blogging this semester! I'm so sorry! I'm going to try and get a few new posts this week, so keep your eyes peeled!

I'm not officially 1 semester away from my rotations and being free of tests and studying forever! My finals were the week before Thanksgiving, and the past week has been wonderful! The first Saturday of Thanksgiving break was perfect. I sat at home in my PJs all day long and watched football. I haven't had a day like that in a while, and we all need one of those days every so often! I can't believe that this semester is over. It went by quickly, and was by far my favorite semester of pharmacy school yet! I felt like a totally different person!!

Anyway, I just wanted to give a quick update. I'll be working on several posts in the next day or two. I have some exciting news! So stay tuned! :)

Exciting news!!!!

It is official! I will be moving to Birmingham in May for Rotations and my final year of pharmacy school!! I am BEYOND thrilled! By May, I will have been living in Auburn for a couple months shy of 8 years! And as much as I love this place, I'm ready for a change in scenery! Don't get me wrong...I'll try and visit Auburn as much as possible, and will always love this little town with all of my heart...but it's time to move on! I'm really excited about being a lot closer to a lot of my friends. Grayson will also be moving back to Birmingham after he graduates in December, so we'll only have to do the long distance thing for about 4.5 months. I cannot put into words how excited I am right now! Now...I've got to find a place to live!!

Back to School...

Actually, I've already finished 3 weeks of school! I started back on August 2nd, and can't believe that I've already got 3 weeks behind me. In the past you've most likely heard me talk (complain) about DAD, i.e. Drugs and Diseases. DAD was a series of 4 semesters and a total of 22 exams. It was MISERABLE! As if you couldn't tell from all of my status updates and blog posts! Haha! Well, now that I'm in my 3rd year, we started a new course termed IP or Integrated Pharmacotherapy. Basically, they divide our class up into teams of 7-8 people. They give us a case or situation that we may encounter in the pharmacy. We then have to give presentations on all the disease states, drug classes and drugs that are listed in that case. These presentations are called SKPs (pronounced SKiPs) which stands for Standard Knowledge Procedures. Basically we teach each other the material. It is totally different than DAD. COMPLETELY DIFFERENT! But I feel like I'm learning more, and that I'm not just learning it for a test, but I'm actually learning it to remember it. At first the presentations were taking me hours to complete, but I'm starting to get the hang of it, and I've started to learn where I need to look for my information. At first I had a hard time with it. I'm not very good at speaking in front of people. I get nervous, and start talking super fast and lose my train of thought, but I've started to get better and I've started to get more confident. It's been a big adjustment, but I'm starting to enjoy it. And if you've been around me the past two years, there really hasn't been anything that I have enjoyed about pharmacy school.

In the next month I should be ranking my preferences for the location of my rotations during my 4th year. Right now I'm leaning towards ranking Birmingham as my first choice. As much as I love Auburn, I need a change of scenery. I've been here for almost 8 years now. All my friends have graduated and moved on, and several of them are in Birmingham. So say a quick prayer for my upcoming decisions if you get a chance! :)

PS...13 days til Auburn Football!! And 10 days until RV day! :) WDE!

July 4th Bachelorette Bash

July 4th weekend we celebrated one of my best friends from my undergraduate college years last nights out as a single lady! Laura Linder is getting married July 31st of this year. Laura was one of my first friends at Auburn, a former roommate, and pledge sister. We have many many happy, sad, and funny memories together. Laura is one of those people who could always make me laugh no matter how bad I was feeling! I love this girl to pieces, and I am really honored to be a part of her big day!

I can't wait and can't tell you how excited I am for her! To celebrate several of us went down to Destin, Florida and rented a condo. Despite news of the oil spill ruining the beaches, I thought the beaches and water were more beautiful this weekend than I had ever seen them!!

I got totally fried on Saturday, but thanks to a secret remedy made by one of the girls dad, I was ready to go out Sunday afternoon on Stephanie's Dad's boat.

The boat was absolutely beautiful! We had a great time out on the water!!

I don't have many more pictures, but we had a great weekend! Sunday we had a fabulous dinner at Harbor Docks, followed by fireworks in the rain, and then off to celebrate! I can't wait until the wedding!
